Wolfville Accident Today, UPDATE: 18-Year-Old Man Killed in Highway 1 Crash in Grand Pré, Nova Scotia

A fatal crash in Grand Pré, Nova Scotia, has claimed the life of an 18-year-old man from Prospect Bay, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The collision occurred during the early hours of Sunday, October 18, 2026, and left several other occupants injured.

According to Kings District RCMP, the incident began at approximately 1:50 a.m. when an officer observed a grey Honda Civic travelling at a high rate of speed through downtown Wolfville. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the Civic continued toward Grand Pré without pulling over.

While attempting the traffic stop, the police vehicle was involved in a separate, single-vehicle crash just outside Wolfville. The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by Emergency Health Services (EHS).

At approximately 1:53 a.m., police, EHS personnel, and fire services responded to a crash notification on Highway 1 in Grand Pré. Responding officers discovered that the grey Honda Civic, carrying five occupants, had left the roadway and travelled over an embankment.

An 18-year-old man from Prospect Bay was pronounced dead at the scene. Of the four other occupants, three were transported to hospital by EHS, while another man was airlifted by EHS LifeFlight with life-threatening injuries.

Investigation Into the Wolfville Crash

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended both crash locations as investigators worked to establish the circumstances surrounding the incidents. The investigation is ongoing, with support from the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.

The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) will review the preliminary evidence to determine whether the circumstances fall within its mandate for investigation.
